About This Spot

Set just where the river meets the sea, Riverside Cafe feels like a quietly cherished secret along St Marks’ waterfront. From the moment you arrive, there’s an easygoing rhythm—part gentle water sounds, part the steady hum of friendly chatter—that invites you to settle in and watch the world drift by. Whether you find a spot on the dock or beneath the expansive tiki hut, the mood strikes a balance between waterfront calm and casual comfort.

The atmosphere here is unpretentious, with sturdy wooden benches and chairs that welcome everyone from local regulars to visitors exploring Florida’s coastal charm. There’s a sense of pause—a moment to breathe in the salty breeze and watch tide-swollen branches float gently downstream, or to catch a glimpse of herons and other wildlife weaving through the scene. It’s the kind of place where the slow-changing panorama becomes part of the experience.

Food at Riverside Cafe unfolds naturally, the way fresh seafood should feel—simple, honest, and satisfying. Whether you’re pulling at crunchy fried crab claws or savoring steamed oysters while the water laps just nearby, it’s a menu that invites sharing and discovery. The kitchen does well by classic coastal dishes, creating moments of warmth through the familiar comforts of a shrimp Po’ Boy or a perfectly toasted Cuban sandwich, alongside touches of local flavor like a tart Key Lime Pie or that standout signature cocktail that seems just right here.

What lingers most, though, are the small, human details: attentive servers who make you feel seen even when the crowd is light, a shared laugh over a basket of fried mushrooms or onion rings, and the quiet joy of dining where the line between community hangout and hidden gem grows deliciously thin. Riverside Cafe feels like a place to lose track of time gently, savoring both the food and the peaceful pulse of the riverfront.

How gorgeous the view is!!! The first time I saw the tide rushing out to sea and amazingly, tree tops and branches being taken away! Our server was absolutely wonderful and so awesome to getting our appetizers - our panko covered and breaded mushrooms and onion rings. My fish was perfect! Recommend everyone to stop by for brunch or dinner!!!

We sat at the dock, and it was absolutely beautiful. We really enjoyed our meal looking at the water. I appreciate that they have good sturdy chairs out there as well as woodbenches, so you have good options for everybody. The oysters were a little salty, but I knew that ahead of time, but were absolutely delicious. As was the yellow fin tuna sandwich and first mate. Number one combo.

I'll start by saying it was an extremely slow night. While we were there, there was one other couple in the entire restaurant. It is off-season for a restaurant kn the water and it was 7pm on a Tuesday night, so it wasn't shocking. The server was fantastic and very attentive. We had a dozen delicious raw oysters, a fried crab claw basket with cajun season and shrimp tacos. This food was on point and very delicious. It didn't hurt that I got to share it with a beautiful lady too. I would highly recommend this place. It looks to be a fun spot on weekends and during the summer. I will definitely be back.

This is a very big tiki hut. You can access this place from the water. Drinks are affordable. Food is good. And they got some cool shirts and other things for sale as well. You can also walk around town.

What an amazing hidden gem! First time here, and our experience was memorable. A perfect view of the water and wildlife made our lunch special. On top of that, our server was AMAZING! She was super lively, helpful, and fun. (Wish I remembered her name) The food was amazing, fresh, and hot. Would love to see this place in full swing on the weekend it looks like a great time!
